Harry Warren Ehlenfeld, 83, of Ridge Farm, IL, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL surrounded by his family. He was born February 28, 1935 in Indianola, IL, to Harry and Mabel {Neal} Ehlenfeld. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn {Kunkle} Ehlenfeld. They were married on June 24, 1956 in Ridge Farm, IL and would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary next month. Harry is also survived by: his four children, Sheryl Lewis of Orlando, FL, Jeffrey (Fela) Ehlenfeld of Donna, TX, Kathy (John) Twork of Bloomington, IL, and Karla (Eric) Brooks of Georgetown, IL; his eight grandchildren, Michael, Trent, Stephanie, Jamie, Doug, John, Christopher, & Joshua; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his three brothers, Robert, Don, & Jack Ehlenfeld; his two sisters, Lois Wilson & Mildred Smith; and a son-in-law, David W. Lewis. Harry graduated from Georgetown High School in 1952. He was a 38-year member and past Master of the Ridge Farm Masonic Lodge #0632. He was also president of the Ridge Farm Lions Club as well as a trustee for the Library and the village government. He worked as a sales associate at Sears in Danville for many years. After earning his real estate broker license, Harry opened a real estate office in Ridge Farm with his wife. He was the Superintendent of Public Works for the Village of Ridge Farm for several years before retirement. After retirement, Harry worked for Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL as a shuttle driver. He enjoyed assisting and interacting with the passengers. The family would like to thank the Carle Auxiliary Guest House, Hospital, doctors, and staff that showed great compassion and care for Harry and the family. A celebration of Harry's life will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Olivet Church of the Nazarene, 5054 Olivet Road, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. A Masonic Service will be conducted followed by the memorial service. Cremation rites were accorded by Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown. Memorial donations may be made to the Olivet Church of the Nazarene or the Carle Center for Philanthropy at carle.org/give/support.
