Harry Shepherd

Danville - Harry Shepherd 87 of Danville passed away on October 27, 2016 at his home. He was born March 18 1929 the son of Harry and Sarah Kerenetta Shepherd. He is survived by his son Terry (Julie) Shepherd; daughter, Karen (Greg) Clapper; grandchildren, Jill (Mike) Poggendorf, Tyler (Ashley) Shepherd, Cory Clapper; great-grandchildren, Elliana Poggendorf, Madison Andrews Poggendorf, Aurora Shepherd and Zoey Shepherd. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary, and his great-granddaughter, Isabella Poggendorf. Harry worked for many years at R&S Printing as a printer. He also worked at Ray O'Herron Inc. retiring many years ago. Harry was very active up until his passing working as a golf ranger at Harrison Park Golf Course. He loved playing golf and spending time with his family. His death ends a 70-plus year legacy of Goodner/Shepherd presence on Harmon Avenue. A visitation for Harry will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834 on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 1-2 PM, with a service to follow.
