Harry Lind

Harry E. Lind, 79, of Danville, IL passed away December 3, 2006 Provena USMC Logan Campus in Danville. He was born September 11, 1927 in Danville, Illinois son of Ernest and Anna Anderson Lind. Survives include Brother: Richard (Joan) Lind of Rogers, AR, and Sister: Jeanine (Bob) Freeman, Cartersville, GA; several nieces and nephew and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Donald C. Lind, and two sisters: Winifred & Ruby Lind. Harry attended Danville Schools and served in the U.S. Navy for ten years during WWII. He worked for CSX Railroad for forty years until his retirement. He was a member of the Danville American Legion Post #210 and had a passion for animals. A Celebration of Harrys life will be held at 11:00 am December 6, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center; 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville, with Pastor Ed Stone officiating. He will be laid to rest at Spring Hill cemetery in Danville with military honors preformed by American Legion Post #210. Memorials may be made to Vermilion County Animal Shelter Foundation.
