Harry Jug Ellis, age 72, of Oakwood, passed away at 1:54 pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at his home. He was born September 28, 1935 in Danville the son of Walter and Fannie (Young) Ellis. He married Deloris Downing on May 8, 1959 in North Rural Oakwood. She Survives. He is also survived by one son: David (Billie Jo) Ellis of Tilton; one grandson: Kyle VanDuyn of Danville; one brother: Mike (Sue) Ellis of Danville; one sister: Beverly Woods of Danville; his mother-in-law: Alice Downing France of Oakwood; one son-in-law: Bob VanDuyn of Danville; three sisters-in-law: Sally Ellis of Danville, Linda Castle of Kennewick, WA, Helen Lipowsky of Tilton; two special friends: John Brant of Danville, Bill Nail of Oakwood; and several nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Laura VanDuyn; two fathers-in-law: Harold Downing and Gordon France; one brother: Tom Ellis; and three brothers-in-law: Richard Woods, Vannis Lipowsky, and Dale Castle. Harry served his country in the Army Reserves. He worked for Bunge until his retirement in 1998. Jug enjoyed anything that would require him to be outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing with his friends and liked raising livestock and miniature horses. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
