Harry Edward "Ed" Fiscus, 84 of Danville, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at the North Logan Health Care Center in Danville. He was born on January 27, 1927 in Danville, the son of Everett "Earl" and Helen Marcella (Hartman) Fiscus. Both are deceased. Ed was a 1944 Danville High School graduate and a United States Navy veteran. He married Vera J. Thornton at the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville on February 11, 1949. She survives along with their four children; Randy (Jessica) Fiscus of Springfield, IL; Terry (Gail) Fiscus of St. Paul, Minn; Vicky (Kevin) Burke of Terre Haute, IN, and Cindy (Danny) Shahan of Danville, IL. His fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a great-grandson, due in March of 2012, also survive Ed. After the military, Ed worked for R&S Printing Company in Danville until his retirement. He was also owner/operator of "Long Life Light Bulb Company" in Danville. Ed was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Cayuga American Legion, and the Danville Elks Club. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, traveling, and spending his time with family. He will be missed by all that knew him. A Funeral Mass with Christian Burial has been scheduled for 11:30am on Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. Paul's Catholic Church located at 1303 N. Walnut Street in Danville with entombment to take place at the Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Father Greg Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville, with a Rosary to begin at 3:30pm on Thursday. Military honors will be held at the chapel mausoleum, being conducted by the Cayuga IN, American Legion. In lieu of flowers, the Fiscus family has asked that all memorial donations be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville.
