A beautiful life has ended; the sweet, saintly spirit of Harriett Ann Nolin Dunbar departed this life at 4:42 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2005. Harriett was born March 16, 1918 in Brook, Indiana to Ralph Earl Nolin and Katie Belle Tebo Nolin; Harriett being the sixth child of nine in this family. She was raised in Indiana and Illinois, and graduated from Daniel Grade School in 1933. She was converted in 1939 and joined the Bowman Avenue Methodist Church. Harriett married Harold Harrison Dunbar on April 26, 1937 and he predeceased her on June 14, 1982. Harriett and Harold were the parents to three surviving children; two sons of Danville, Kenneth Lee Dunbar (Bonnie Scurrah) and Byron Joseph Joe Dunbar (Deborah Ann Scott); one daughter, Carol Ann Dunbar Rose (Dr. Robert Ray Rose) of Bloomington, IL; one brother, Raymond Claude Nolin of Williamsport, IN; grandchildren, Kenny Dunbar, Harold Dunbar, Danny Dunbar, Joseph Dunbar, Teresa Barney, Karla Gifford, and Christopher Rose; four step-grandchildren; eleven step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, plus a host of friends. Harriett was predeceased by brothers, Marion Nolin, Arthur Nolin, Donald Nolin; sisters, Alice Nolin Goodwin, Lois Nolin Redman, Dorothy Nolin Stephens, Laura Pearl Nolin Rook; half-sister, Maxine Nolin Hunt; aforementioned husband and parents. She was employed as sales clerk for Jones Drugstore, J.C. Penney Co., and Sales Department Manager at Kresge Co. Harrietts life was all consumed with her love of family and church, always helping and praying for others. She was a Cub Scout Leader, Past President and Treasurer of United Methodist Women, Sunday School Teacher of grades 2-6 for a period of well over 40 years, Church Board Member, Bible School Teacher, Bible Study Leader. She will be sorely missed by those remaining, but the angels are rejoicing to have her at home in heaven
