Harriet Ceriotti

Harriet T. Ceriotti, 99, of Westville died at 10:57 AM Monday, May 18, 2009 at Provena Medical Center. She was born January 12, 1910, in Westville, the daughter of Kazimieras Charles and Katrina Katherine Kasparkas Bajorinas (Byron). Her parents named her Yadviga, however in the seventh grade changed her name to Harriet Theresa. On April 18, 1927 she married John (Jack) Ceriotti. He died May 18, 1971. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Ann Armon of Decatur, Illinois and Dolores (Henry) Hawley of Lady Lake, Florida, and seven grandchildren, Stephen (Sandy) King, Margaret (Ron) White, Mary Young, John (Meg) King, Edward (Sarah) Armon, Kathy (Adon) Ramirez, and Tony (Diana) Armon, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and brother, Charlie Byron. She belonged to St. Marys Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Harriet believed it was important to be a good, hard, honest worker. At a young age, she added a year to her job application so that she would be able to go to work to help her family. She first worked at General Electric. Many remember her making the best chocolate sodas and cherry cokes at the counter at Suzies. She also worked at PN Hirsh and then Dollar General until she was 90 years old. Her deepest values were to live a happy life and enjoy her daughters and grandchildren. She had the art of listening. She was happiest when she was celebrating with her family, entertaining friends, and watching EWTN. Her family is grateful for Mary Thompson, our guardian angel, JoAnn Thompson, her nurse, and many friends who visited her.
