Harold Witt

Harold Witt, 64, of Danville passed away at 2:20 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at his home with his family by his side. Harold was born on December 26, 1945, in Danville, the son of Clive R. and Ruby M. (Goble) Witt. He married Debra Mariage on September 2, 1992 in Danville. She survives. He is also survived by two daughters- Amanda Witt and Melody Huron both of Danville; one brother- Mike (Geri) Witt of Danville; a special niece and nephew- Jaime and Michael Witt of Danville; four grandchildren- Ellaina, Jake, Sam and Lane; and his best friends- Glen and Ruth Burress and Jace Weir both of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents. Harold graduated from Danville High School in 1964. He worked at Heatcraft for 35 years, until he retired in 2001. Harold was an avid bowler for over 48 years. He was inducted into the D.A.B.A bowling Hall of Fame this past year. He was the Thursday night league president at Bulans. Harold also enjoyed watching westerns, working in his garden and was an avid Illini, Cardinals and Cowboys fan. Most of all Harold loved his girls. Harold never gave up on his fight with cancer, fighting till the very end. A Celebration of the life of Harold Witt will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Allan Rudie officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church or to Carle Hospice.
