Harold W. Auter

Harold Wayne”Boo” Auter, 87, of Danville passed away at 5 AM Sunday May 4, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, IL. Harold was born March 5, 1927 to Neuman and Eula (Peters) Auter in Covington,IN. He married Virginia Yeats on February 14, 1959, she preceded him in death. They recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. Harold is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arthur and Neuman Auter and one sister, Mary Emma Hilgeman. Harold went to Oaklawn Grade School and Danville High School. After graduating he went to Danville Area Community College and then attended the University of Illinois, receiving a degree in Engineering. He worked at Chuckles Candy Factory, Peterson Puritan and Esco Corporation. He served in the Army. He was loved by his family and he was devoted to his wife. He liked to plant flowers in his yard. He liked to help his fellow human beings. Boo enjoyed working on the family farm. A service to celebrate the life of Harold will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastors Dave Hastings and Curtis Darling will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
