Harold Rice

Harold D. Rice, 75 of Danville, passed this Life on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, IL. He was born on November 4, 1934 in Kentucky, the son of James and Patricia (Pelley) Rice. Harold is survived by his three children, James (Diane) Rice of Bloomington, IL, Daniel (Anna) Rice of San Diego, CA, and Ruth (John) Risser of Danville, IL. His three grandchildren, John Lucas Risser of Danville, and Daniel and Eliana Rice, both of San Diego, CA, also survive him. His parents precede Harold in Death. Harold was a Westville High School graduate and served in the United States Navy from August of 1952, until his retirement in November of 1972. He was a member of the Danville American Legion Post 210, the Danville Moose Lodge, Shrines, and a 32 degree Mason with Ansar Temple. Per Harolds wishes, cremation rites will be honored and a memorial service will be held in his name at 6:00pm on Friday, April 9, 2010 at sunset funeral home and cremation center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Pastor James Blue has been asked to officiate the service. A gathering for family and friends will be from 5:00pm until time of the memorial service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Harolds name to the Westville Community Academic Foundation, and/or the Shriners Hospital.
