Harold E. Ratliff

Harold Eugene Ratliff was called home to his Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 21, 2025 in the comfort of his home, after a long battle with cancer. He was born July 17, 1939 in Oakwood, Illinois the son of the late Truman C. "Doc" and Helen (Cushwa) Ratliff.

He married Georgianne Grimes on May 28, 1960 in Danville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2002.

Survivors include three sons: Greg A. Ratliff of Cayuga, Indiana; Charles (Karalee) Ratliff of Boswell, Indiana and James Ratliff of Normal, Illinois; several grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and one brother: Ronald (Donna Lou) Ratliff of Tennessee.

Harold was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Ayla; two sisters: Connie Jean Curry and Mary Ellen Hawker; one brother, Robert Ratliff; and three half-brothers: Truman, Clyde and Glenn Ratliff.

Harold retired from Lauhoff/Bungee in Danville, Illinois in 2003. He was a member of the Cayuga Citizens Club. Harold enjoyed watching old westerns and collecting coins.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm EST on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home’s DeVerter Chapel, located at 215 N. Division Street in Cayuga, Indiana. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am EST on Saturday, September 27, 2025, also at the funeral home. Following services, he will be laid to rest next to Georgianne at Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana. The family kindly requests that those in attendance wear casual attire, as that’s what Harold would have liked.
