Harold Neal Haworth

Harold Neal Haworth, 93, of Georgetown, passed away at 2:29am, Sunday, January 6, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Bunsenville, IL, the son of Chester and Mary Dorothy {Neal} Haworth on February 26, 1925. He was united in marriage to Helen Stephenson on October 19, 1947 in Georgetown and were married for 71 years. She will miss him greatly. He will be missed by: his daughters, Rita (Donald) Noggle of Georgetown, Kathy (Dan) Meeker of Fairmount, & Jill Fudge of Villa Grove; his brother, Lester "Bud" (Jackie) Haworth of Florida; his eight grandchildren, Lisa, Tim, Angie, Stacey, Lainey, Luke, Nick, & Cassie; his fourteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his infant grandson, Tony Lambert; and his two sisters, Jewel Moss & Freda Blanch. Harold was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and served during WWII. He worked for Hyster Company for 31 years until he retired. He was a member of the Russell Masonic Lodge for over 50 years as well as a member of the Georgetown Friends Church. He was hobby farmer who loved to be outdoors and took care of horses all of his life and loved his 300-Tree apple orchard where he let his favorite dogs wander. Harold believed, "Nobody needs to go exercise, just put in fence." He will be fondly remembered by all who loved him. A celebration of Harolds life will be held at 1:30pm, Tuesday, January 8, 2018, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown with Pastor Ben Skinner officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm until 1:30pm on Tuesday prior to his service at the funeral home with Masonic Rites given. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Georgetown Friends Church.
