Harold Hawn

Harold F. Hawn met Jesus on October 9, 2024 at Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL.

He was born on February 4, 1937 in Champaign, IL, to Helen McCartney and John Hawn.

He had 4 brothers, John (Naomi), Jerry (Jan), Dwain (Linda), and Damon (Judy).

Harold was married to Dorothy Hicks on May 4, 1958 and together they had Carol (Jim), Russell, and David (Beth).  Together they had 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  He also had many many nieces and nephews.

He later married Betty Jean Day on November 10, 2009 and acquired 2 children, Jeff and Lauri, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, son, and niece.

Harold owned his own landscaping, tree, and firewood business for over 60 years.  He loved his flower garden and enjoyed tinkering and rebuilding trucks.  He was very knowledgeable in both areas.  He also liked to take trips and spend time with family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 14 at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 East Grove, Rantoul.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at Lux Memorial Chapel.
