Harold “Cork” Jordan, 86, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:30 am, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville. He was born on April 12, 1928 in Indianola, the son of Samuel Orva and Hazel (Steward) Jordan, both deceased. Cork was united in marriage to Irma Ilene Haga on August 26, 1950, in Ridge Farm, IL. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2013. He is survived by: his children, James (Barbara) Jordan of Rochester, NY, Carol (Terry) Scott of Bowling Green, IN, Donna (Dr. Greg) Andrews of Quincy, IL, & Pam Elder of Danville; sisters Caroline Brown of Catlin and Susan (Ed) Lovette of Georgetown; special family friends, John T. and Jeanne Smith; grandchildren, Angela (Brion) Burger of Caledonia, NY, Jason Jordan, Diana Jordan, both of Rochester, NY, Michael (Kristin) Scott, Karyn Scott, both of Bowling Green, IN, Dr. Gregory (Marissa) Scott of Tomahawk, WI, Eric Andrews of Columbia, MO, Thomas (Lauren) Andrews, Kelsey Andrews, both of Columbia, MO, Caleb Andrews of Grand Rapids, MI, & Rob (Anvita) Elder of Zionsville, IN; great grandchildren, Isabelle & Gabriella Burger, Christopher Jordan and Anthony Barker, Elijah and Isaiah Elder, Mariah, Landon, Toby, Eli, & Zachary Scott. Cork was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Susannah Burger. He was a member of First Church of Christ and the Georgetown Fair Board. Cork was a concrete finisher in the construction trades for more than 25 years. Many of you still enjoy the patios he designed and finished. Following retirement he went on to serve as road commissioner in McKendrie Township for 12 years. Cork was co-superintendent of the Fairs Swine Department for 35 years. He did everything from construct pens, check health records and weigh pigs. In his spare time, Cork enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. A celebration of Harold “Cork” Jordans life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor Phil Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the funeral home. Cork will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola. Memorial donations may be given in his name to First Church of Christ or Georgetown Fair.
