He single-handedly built and later remodeled his familys home in south Danville. Harley worked in the construction field, drove a semi, and served as head custodian for school district 118, retiring 19 years later. Harley enjoyed motor boating, water skiing and picnicking on Lake Vermilion with family and friends. He and his wife were members of a boating club called The Flying Shingles, where he taught many young people to ski. Blackie loved the Mississippi river. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce; two children, Lori Black of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Bradley J. (Stacey) Black of Danville; one brother, Herbert N.
