Hannabelle Cork, 86 of Danville passed on September 17, 2014 at Presence Hospital with family by her side. Hannabelle was born the daughter of Herman and Helen (Chatterton) Goers on July 19, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa. She married Manley J Cork on October 12, 1952 he survives. Hannabelle is also survived by two sons Kevin (Terri) Cork of Oakwood, and Brian (Pam) Cork of Lawrenceville; five grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer) Cork, Nicole (Andrew) Lee, Andrew (Miranda Mauck) Cork, Captains Nolan (Danielle) Cork United States Army, Carlee (Dan Bauer) Cork; five great-grandchildren; one special niece Dr. Josie (Dr. Ed) Burkhalter; and three special nephews Richard (Linda) Howson (Captain United States Navy - Retired), Gene Johnston, and Roy “Butch” Howson Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. Hannabelle was a lover of all things musical. She played the piano, sang for the radio station KROS, and with the famous Lawrence Welk. For over 25 years she was secretary for Danville District 118 and enjoyed the comradery of the Retired Secretaries Club. She was an avid bingo player, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Club, a past winner of the Talent of the Ages contest at The David S. Palmer Civic Center, and loved her dog Casey. A celebration of Hannabelles life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville on September 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Officiating the service will be Reverend Randall Robinson of St. James United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on September 19, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
