Greta R. Ludwig

Greta R. Ludwig, 90 of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Danville, IL passed away at 11:40am on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at her son's home in Orlando. She was born on January 14, 1922 in Boone County Indiana, the daughter of James B. and Ursula G .Cornett. Both are deceased. On February 6, 1941, Greta married Paul S. Ludwig at her parents' home in Danville. They were married for 62 years until his passing in 2003. Surviving family includes two children; Greta Kay (Jon) Mohr of Crawfordsville IN, and Paul Sinclair of Orlando, Florida. Her six grandchildren, Greg (Sandi) Elliott of Greensburg, PA., Cheri Elliott of Fort Worth, TX, Steven (Kelley) Elliott of Sammamish, WA., Mary Christine (Mike) Oelshlager of Pontiac, IL., Stephen (Eve) Ludwig of Danville, and Michaela (Shawn) Hallett of Homer, IL. Thirteen great-grandchildren, Steven and Michael Elliott, Brandon Elliott, Austin Elliott, Michaela, Addison, and Easton Hallett; Marcus, Nadia, Charles, Vivian, and Ivan Ludwig, and Jacob Oelschlager also survive her, as well as her brother, James (Alice) Cornett of Georgetown, and her sister, Estella (Paul) Paskewitz and many special friends. In addition to her parents and husband Paul, one son, James Stephen, daughter in law, Mary Elle, and two sisters, Madeline Skoog, and Belva Ray preceded Greta in death. She was a graduate of Danville High School and later from Danville Beauty School. Greta was a farm wife, and enjoyed all aspect of being a wife and a mother. Her family was Greta's enjoyment and passion and she will be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of the Life of Greta Ludwig has been scheduled for 10:00am on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial following the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Paul Paskewitz has been asked by the family to officiate the service. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3-7pm on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the funeral home.
