Gregory Weir

Gregory Gene Weir of Cayuga, IN entered into eternal rest on Sunday September 14, 2025. Greg was born February 5, 1957, to Frederick Gene and Alma Louise (Allen) Weir. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death are his daughter Stephanie Sue Ann Weir, Brother Frederick Stephen Weir and brothers in law Randy Wilson and Len Stewart.

Greg was married to Leslie Hayman Weir. They enjoyed many years together. Greg was a 1975 graduate of North Vermillion High School. He later graduated with high honors from Kaplan University in 2010. Greg was a union painter for local 197, until retirement.

Greg is survived by his wife Leslie, daughter Michelle Layne of Yelm WA, son Chris (Becca) Smith of Danville, IL. Two sisters, Susie Wilson and Debbie Stewart both of Cayuga, IN. 10 grandkids, 4 great grandkids and several nieces and nephews.

Greg enjoyed Nascar, poker, and spending time playing games with his grandchildren. He enjoyed his time at home with family.

Greg will be deeply missed by all. Per his wishes there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s DeVerter Chapel 215 N Division Street Cayuga, Indiana assisted the family with final arrangements.
