Gregory L. Vandewalker

Gregory Lance Vandewalker, 64, passed away on May 25, 2024 at his home in Georgetown surrounded by his family. He was born on June 28, 1959 in Springfield to the late Elden and Nolda Vandewalker (Sawyer). He attended Catlin High School and graduated with the Class of 78. Following in his familys footsteps, he began his electricians apprenticeship under his father soon after graduating from high school. He married Teresa Lack on October 15, 1992 and the two shared over 30 years of wonderful memories together.

Gregory was known for being an everyday MacGyver; he was so knowledgeable about various subjects and had a knack for fixing things. He had a true passion for learning and was always tinkering around in his garage. It was not uncommon to find him riding around on his lawn mower. He looked forward to spending time with his grandkids, all who will miss him dearly. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Vandewalker; his children Tita (John) Vandewalker-Cox and Sean (Lisa) Conklin; grandchildren Kara, Grace, Olivia, and Everly; as well as siblings Michael, Kelly, Fred, Sigma, Cathleen & stepsiblings Kurt, Sam, Julie, and Mary.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws; his grandson, Thomas; and his sister, Sheila.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown. Pastor Jim Blue will be officiating. Online condolences and fond memories can be shared with his family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
