Danville - Gregory "Greg" A. Shepherd, 66, of Danville passed away at 11:14am on Wednesday November 14, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL. Greg was born on December 5, 1951 the son of Ralph and Joy (Bell) Shepherd in Danville, IL. Survivors include his mother, Joy Shepherd of Danville, IL two daughters, Lorie Hughes, Autumn (Robert) Perry of Chicago, IL, one son, Daniel (Amanda Manning) Shepherd of Danville, IL one sister, Debi (Dennis) Allhands of Danville, IL six grandchildren, Thor Hughes, Brooke (Avary) Davis, McKenna Perry, Guy Perry, Olivia Shepherd and Emily Shepherd and one great-grandchild, Marley Davis. Greg is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Shepherd. Greg worked at Danville Metal Stamping as a Machinist for many years. He once served as the President of the Holiday Hills Neighborhood Association, actively engaged in local council meetings, and played on several Billiards Pool Leagues. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing guitar/harmonica with friends. His daughter, Autumn's fondest memory is singing at area nursing homes as he would play guitar for the residents. Greg's son, Daniel most fondly remembers the nights spent hanging at his dad's house with friend, Jason Shank, who Greg also loved dearly. A Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 5:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, with Raymie Gordon officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded following services and inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
