Danville- Grant William Ollis Jr., 81, passed away on April 22, 2014 at his residence. He was born on July 18, 1932 in Homer, IL, the son of Grant William and Trevia Mae (Spencer) Ollis. He married Susan Mendenhall Scott on June 19, 1981, in Danville, IL. Surviving him are three daughters, Mary Ellen Peters, Melinda Roberts of Indianapolis, Jolene (Allen) Myers of Danville; three sons, Michael (Connie) Ollis of Indianapolis, Monty (Gina) Ollis of Westville and Todd (Cindi) Scott of Catlin; three sisters, Ruby (Floyd) Scott, Lois Ellis and Shirley (Robert) Roots; 10 grandchildren, Jordan Ollis, Jacob Ollis, Brandi (Chris) Renollet, Brittany Roberts, Kaitlyn Roberts, Samantha Roberts, Jonathon Eckert, Brandon Scott, Amber (Justin) Puzey and Nikki Parker; 9 great-grandchildren, Xander Renollet, Seraphina Renollet, Caiden Scott, Aiden and Marci Jo Garrison, Ryder Craft, Racin Craft, Ty Puzen, and Aurora Scott. Grant was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Susan, and one brother-in-law, Steve Ellis. He was a graduate of Catlin High School class of 1950. He worked at Tee Pak, was owner/operator of a semi and he and his wife owned Your Rite Cleaning. He was a member of the Army Reserves in his younger years. Grant enjoyed going to tractor pulls, auctions, family get-togethers and riding through the park looking for deer. A celebration of Grants life will be held on Saturday April 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL with Pastor Darren Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM April 25, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oakhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Grants name to the American Cancer Society or the Catlin Church of Christ.
