Grace 'Liz' Elizabeth Smith

Georgetown Grace Elizabeth "LIZ" Smith, 84, of Georgetown IL passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 2:01 a.m. at Gardenview Manor, Tilton IL. She was born May 17, 1934 to Oscar A. and Gertrude (Louthan) Snyder. She married Ralph Smith Jr. Nov. 2, 1952, in Georgetown IL.

Liz is survived by her three daughters, Pam (Alan) Pribble, Penny (Bub) Norgaar, Annie (Randy) Mariage; six grandchildren, Scott Pribble, Caleb Deck, Jessica (Clint) McMasters, Abbey (Ryan) Rummel, Ashley (Brandon) Blankenship and Briana Mariage; nine great-grandchildren Cody Pluck, Darian Pribble, Trent, Ty and Tryce McMasters, Owen Mariage-Tucker, Aryann Rummel, Braelyn and Lilly Blankenship; two brothers, Dwight (Louise) Snyder of Georgetown IL, Kay "Duke" (Vickie) Snyder of West Palm Beach FL; and some very special brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom (Helen) Smith, Bill (Karen) Smith, Ruth (James) Thomas, Anita Smith, Rose Smith; and many nieces, nephews, as well as special gal, Cathy. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Ralph Smith Jr., April 15, 2018; her parents, three brothers, Dale Snyder, Donald Snyder, and Kenneth Snyder.

Liz retired from GE/ Valmont in 1991 after 36 years of service. Even though working a full-time job she always found time to enjoy her passions. She was a beautiful seamstress, from making wedding dresses to mending for others. She enjoyed her family, friends, and traveling. She was extremely proud of her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved them with all her heart. She instilled into them the values of life and faith. Our tears are of joy for her as she entered into a life of eternity free of pain and confusion. There are no words to express A Mothers Love, we will miss her dearly.

The family would like to thank all those who took care of her during the end of her life journey here on earth. Special thanks to the Transition Hospice Team, the Gardenview Manor Nurses and CNAs. A very special thanks to Margaret Bryant, Moms Guardian Angel, her roommate during her stay at Gardenview Manor for the last two and half years.

A celebration of Lizs life will be Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11:00am at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown with Phil Miller to officiate. Burial will follow in the Vermilion Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday prior to her service at the funeral home.
