Grace Johnson

Grace E. Johnson, 81, of Danville, went to be with the Lord at 5:08 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Danville Care Center. Grace was born August 24, 1924, in Danville, the daughter of Edward and Muriel (Wiggle) Elliott. She married Alton E. Johnson on March 29, 1947 in Danville. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2000. Grace is survived by four daughters, Linda Allsopp of Danville, Kathy Dillion of Danville, Tricia (Mark) Russian of Catlin, and Vicki Barnett of Westville; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and two sisters, Betty Hendrickson and Mable Englert both of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Edith Lovett and two brothers, James and Houston Elliott. Grace had worked at numerous factories, but she was mainly a homemaker. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and doing yard work. Grace also liked to sew, work crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. She loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. Grace was a member of First Assembly of God for over 55 years, where she was active with the First Assembly WMC and the Keenagers.
