Grace Daniels

GEORGETOWN- Grace Elzora Grandma (Piatt) Daniels, 79, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Georgetown, IL, went to her heavenly home on February 28, 2006 at 4:53 pm EST at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Mrs. Daniels was born on August 19, 1926, in Danville, the daughter of Edward and Molly (Davis) Piatt. Both her parents precede her in death. Grace met Henry Allen Daniels whom she wed on January 18, 1946 in Washington N.C. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1992. Grace leaves behind and will be missed by: her two sons, James Allen Daniels (Vicki Smith) of Indianapolis, IN and Troy (Linda) Daniels of Clearwater, FL; her two daughters, Wanda Price of Danville and Sondra Hess of Oakwood; her brother, Truman Piatt; and several nieces and nephews; her six grandchildren, Christopher Daniels of Indianapolis, Jonathon and A. J. Daniels of Westfield, Clay (Teri) Hess of Warsaw, Wisconsin, Chad (Carla) Hess of Oakwood, and Malocka Shurr of Danville; her four great grandchildren, Trey, Clerra, Noah, and Hannah Hess, all of Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by three sisters, and three brothers. Grace worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home, retiring in 1979. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidering, collecting skunks, playing Bingo and cards, bible study, and being with friends and family. A celebration of the life of Mrs. Grace Elzora Daniels is scheduled for 3:00pm CST on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home located at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Mr. Clay Hess will officiate. She will be laid to rest at McKendree Cemetery east of Georgetown. Visitation will be held between 4-8pm CST on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be given in Mrs. Daniels name to the Yellow Rose Ruth Lilly Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
