Goldie Amy Smith Amy Smith, 96, of Danville passed away Friday July 13, 2007 at the Waters in Covington. Amy was born November 4, 1910 to Ed and Wilhemia (Schockley) Workman. She married John H. Smith in November, 1931. Surviving Amy are three nieces Kathleen (Keith) Wilson, Beverly (Larry) Pins and Doris Pehrson, a nephew Robert Thoma, Cousins David (Linda) Hartley, Sally Turner, Christine (Daniel) Rigdon, and their children Deborah, Jon, Melanie, Rahlend, Melissa and Shannon Satterfield, David J.W. Hartley, Tammy, Joshua, and Adam Shackmann, and Katie, Jeff, Chynna, Austin, Abby, and Sayler Mikel. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, and her husband. Amy was the Sunday School Secretary for the Assembly of God church for over 60 years and a member for 71 years. She read her bible every year all the way through for over 60 years. She liked doing crossword puzzles and watching game shows. She was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching their games more than anything. When Amy was in good health she was an avid flower gardener. She wanted to live to be a hundred and though she didnt quite make it, she gave it a good try. She will be sadly missed by many. A celebration of Amys life will be at the First Assembly of God Church at 420 N. Walnut Street of Danville on Tuesday July 17, 2007 at 11:00am.
