Gloria Sempsrott

Danville Gloria Sempsrott, 94, of Danville went to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:32 PM on June 16, 2023 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville surrounded by her family.

Gloria was born on November 14, 1928 the daughter of Edward and Gladys Mae (Taylor) Linne in Catlin, IL. She married Charles Sempsrott on April 4, 1948 in Catlin, IL and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2003.

Survivors include her children, Toni (Rick) Lane of Sherman, IL, William Sempsrott of Oakwood, IL, Edward (Debbie) Sempsrott of Imperial, CA, Betsy Strader of Danville, IL and Nancy (Michael) Stevens of Mahomet, IL, grandchildren, Becky Tapscott, Amy (Troy) Cunningham, Courtney Sempsrott, Chad (Madison) Sempsrott, Chelsea Sempsrott, Megan (Ashley) Bolen, Brock (Krista) Strader, Carley (Justin) Fredericks, Amanda (Brian) Andersen, Kelley Armstrong and Maggie (Vince) DUrso, step-grandchild, Anthony (Stephanie) Stevens fifteen great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Sempsrott, brother, Russ Linne and sister, Connie Toth and son-in-law, Chris Strader.

Gloria is a member of Second Church of Christ and was very instrumental in the church from starting and leading the Young at Heart group to being the superintendent of Sunday school and director of Vacation Bible School, playing the piano for church services and assisting with funeral dinners. Gloria and her husband Charlie were very involved in the construction of the new church and active in the maintenance of the church for many years as well. Gloria loved spending time with her family. She devoted her life to God and her family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2023 at Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL 3350 East Voorhees Street Danville, Illinois 61832. Edward Sempsrott will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2023 at Second Church of Christ.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois, 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
