Gloria 'Joann' Cockrell

Gloria 'JoAnn' Cockrell, 73, of Danville, IL, passed away at 2:11am, Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at The Waters of Covington. She was born on August 26, 1949, in Danville, the daughter of Freeman Woodrow and Joye (Covault) Slade. She married Harry Vern Cockrell and together they had one son Clinton Cockrell.

She is survived by her mother, Joye Slade; her son, Clinton (Brandy) Cockrell; her grandchildren, Chandler Cockrell; Jade (Brett) Laney; Garren and Brynna Froschauer; her great grandchild, Emersyn Rose Laney; her brother, Mike Woodrow; her nephews, Eric Wash; Kirk Adams; Todd Adams and David Woodrow. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry, her father and her sister, Rhonda Jeanie Adams. Joann worked at TeePak for 41 years. She enjoyed watching television and traveling. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. A celebration of Joann's life will be held at 5:00pm (EST), Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932 with Tom Hunter officiating. Visitation will be 3:00pm to 5:00pm (EST) on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date TBD at Coal Creek Cemetery .
