Gloria J. Cheesman

Gloria Jean Cheesman, 79, of Covington passed away on October 18, 2023 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital. She was born in Georgetown, Illinois on August 9, 1944 to Blanche and Leon Brown. They preceded her in death.

Gloria graduated from Georgetown High School and married the love of her life, Arnold Cheeseman, on September 7, 1962 in Westville. They shared 57 years together before his eventual passing in September of 2019.

Gloria worked at General Motors for over 26 years before retiring. Even into retirement, she continued to stay busy working as a CNA and a bartender for the American Legion Post 263 in Cayuga. She loved to go fishing, playing Bingo (especially if she was winning), and going out to eat. More than anything else, Gloria looked forward to spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria is preceded in death by her brother Leon Brown, Jr., son-in-law John Dunavan, and greatgrandchild Holliman.

She is survived by her 3 children Laurie Dunavan of Eugene, Shelley (Kevin) Randolph of Veedersburg, and Rodney (Anna) Cheesman of Covington; grandchildren Christina (Cliff) Mikel, Mike (Cori) Dunavan, Jon (Roxie) Dunavan, Kevin (Andrea) Randolph, Alishia (Zac) Holliman, Rachel (Jordan) Blankenbeckler, Rodney Cheesman, Christopher (Rachel) Cheesman, Austin Cheesman, and Kayla (Joe Lomax) Cheesman. She also leaves behind 18 greatgrandchildren; siblings Richard (Doris) Brown of Cayuga and Sandra Yates of Georgia; and her beloved Boston Terrier Mia.
