Gloria Anna Linville

Covington, Ind. -- Gloria Anna Linville, 82, of Covington, Indiana passed away at 2:30 a.m. EDT Saturday, August 9, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born April 23, 1926 in Covington, Indiana the daughter of the late Robert and Alma Elizabeth Merryman Nicklas. She married John C. Linville on November 14, 1948 in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2001. Survivors include: daughter, Jill(Richard)Snodgrass of Covington, Indiana; son, Nick(Rhonda)Linville of Veedersburg, Indiana; four grandchildren, Kalyn(Joe)Herrmann of Evansville, Indiana; Kyle(Kelly)Snodgrass of Jacksonville, Florida; Dustin Jay(Jennifer)Linville and Daniel Lee Linville both of Veedersburg, Indiana; nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Linville in 1979. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Fountain County, Indiana. She was a 1944 graduate of Covington High School. Gloria was a member of the First Baptist Church in Covington, Rural Troy Extension Homemakers Club and the Fountain County Garden Club. Gloria and her husband enjoyed traveling in their Airstream trailer and were members of the Wally Byam Caravan Club. They also worked together on the family farm and in the 1970's owned and operated the Linville Ceramic Cellar in Covington, Indiana. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Covington; Officiating: Stefan Drambarean; Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington; Visitation: 5-8 p.m. EDT Monday, August 11, 2008 at the church and 1 hour prior to services Tuesday. Contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
