Glenwood Malan

Glenwood I. Malan, 89, of Danville, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville. He was born on February 27, 1930 in Patoka, IL, the son of Roy and Maude (Irick) Malan. He was united in marriage to Barbara L. Thompson on October 6, 1950, until her passing in September of 2008.

He will be dearly missed by sons, Michael, Marty (Sandy), and Mark (Lisa) Malan; daughters, Sheila "Rene" (Maggio) Blessent and Dana (Archie) Nixon. Glenwood is also survived by eight grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Glenwood was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church. In his youth and through-out his life he was very athletic. He was a great runner and basketball player. He would do anything for anyone and always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed it. He was the developer and owner of Big Rock Mobile Home Park.

A celebration of Glenwoods life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Cornerstone Christian Church, 1607 Greenwood Cemetery Rd. Danville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N.
