Glenna S. Hooks, 58, of Westville, was called home to her Lord at 4:58 pm, Sunday, April 12, 2015, at her home. Glenna was born April 16, 1956, in Danville, IL, to Glenn and Margretta {Lampert} Starwalt. She was united in marriage to her soulmate, Arnold Hooks on September 20, 1974, in Westville. After 40 years of marriage, he will miss her dearly. She will also be greatly missed by: her mother, Margretta Starwalt of Midway; her son, Kevin (Kaci) Hooks of Newport, IN; her daughter, Amanda (Damon) Downs of Ridge Farm; her grandchildren, Alexis Downs of Westville & Skylar Downs, whom she adored & spoiled, of Ridge Farm; her brothers, Steve (Donna) Starwalt of Danville, Darryl (Karla) Starwalt of Georgetown, Donnie (Donna) Starwalt of Lovington, IL, & David Starwalt of Georgetown; her sisters, Kathy (Randy) Pichon of Danville, Carolyn (Wayne) Campbell of Traverse City, MI, & Terrie (Chris) Chambliss of Belgium; and her three amazing sisters-in-law, Betty Jarnigan of Clinton, TN, Sue (Bob) Ellis of Westville, & Edna (Terry) Bryant of Westville. She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn, and her mother-in-law & father-in-law, Lizzie & Ernest Hooks. Glenna enjoyed spending time with the patrons & friends at Wandas Kitchen, including Dimitri & Wanda (her special family), as well as the many every day regulars. She also enjoyed dancing, flea markets, making jewelry and crafts. She was also a “shop-o-holic” because of her love of shopping. Glenna cherished spending time with her granddaughter, Skylar. She was known as a selfless and giving person with a beautiful soul. Glenna had many “adopted” children through the years and loved them as her own. She also loved taking pictures of sunrises & sunsets. The next time you see the most amazing, most beautiful sunset, know that she is in Heaven making it picture perfect for us all. A celebration of Glennas life will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm, Friday, April 17, 2015, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Memorial donations may be given to her family in care of Landmark Credit Union, Westville.
