Glenn Russell Wade, 72, of Georgetown, passed away at 6:00pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at his home. He was born on June 11, 1937, in Alvin, IL, the son o f Leland and Eulalia (Songer) Wade. He was united in marriage to Carol Galyen on December 31st, 1958, in Georgetown. She will miss him dearly. He is also survived by: his son, Glenn Richard Wade of Westfield, IL; his daughters, Melody (Wayne) Douglass of Danville & E. Jane Gustafson of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Terra, Trisha, Uriah Russell, Danielle, Brandi, his 12 great grandchildren; his brother, David (Suzie) Roesch of Indian Head Park, IL; his sister, Joyce Holden of Fairmount, IL; his special friends, Gene & Barb Abbott of Collison, IL. Glenn was preceded in death by: his parents; his step-father, Todd Roesch; his special Aunt, Helen Fortner; and special friend, Darrel Finchum. Glenn was Veteran of the US Army. He worked for NACCO in Danville from 1961 to 2000. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Russell Lodge #154 of Georgetown. Glenn was a member of the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203 and a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, as well as, camping. He enjoyed vacationing in Minnesota. He cherished the time he spent with his family and enjoyed spending time with his work buddies. A celebration of Glenns life will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Pastor Joe Humrichous will officiate the service. Visitation will be 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at the funeral home with Masonic Rites being conducted at 6:00pm. He will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery with Military Honors given by the American Legion Dornblaser post #203. Memorial donations may be given in his name to donors choice.
