Glenn Richard Pabst, 88, of Danville, IL passed away Saturday May 6th, 2017 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on January 7th, 1929 in New London, MO, son of Louis and Lela (Williams) Pabst. He married Trella (Campbell) Pabst on February 12th, 1950 in Hannibal, Missouri. She proceeded him in death after 65 years of marriage on November 15, 2015. Surviving are his children, Gaylin (Debbie) Pabst, Deanna (Mark) Harbison, Rhonda Pabst and Paula Wolfe; eight grandchildren include, Garett (Kim) Pabst, Garth (Diana) Harbison, Joseph (Jessica) Pabst, Nathaniel Harbison, Wesley (Katie) Pabst, Tristan Wolfe, Rylan Wolfe and Ella Mae Wolfe; seven great-grandchildren, Tucker Pabst, Lillian Pabst, Kirk Pabst, Dylan Pabst, Tripp Pabst, Madison Pabst, Griffin Pabst, with one soon to arrive. Other survivors include a brother-in-law Dale(Joy) Campbell, sister-in-law Vila (Dick) Hird, brother-in-law Calvin (Sherry) Campbell. Glenn and Dale acknowledged themselves as brothers as they did many things together including operating a joint disposal service together for many years. Glenn was proceeded in death by his parents; one sister Evelyn O'Briant, brother in-law Jesse O'Briant, and daughter-in-law, Jeanie Pabst Glenn was a member of the Community Church of God. He held numerous positions in the Church including Board of Trustees, Church Council member, usher, church bus driver, and Sunday School Secretary. Glenn also held responsibilities of the maintenance and care of the Church building and grounds. Glenn received great joy when asked to place the cross on top of the Church steeple upon completion of the new Church facility in 1993. Additionally, mission work was very important to Glenn having traveled and served in Haiti. Glenn also served locally for Habitat for Humanity, Faith in Action, and Meals on Wheels. Glenn loved and supported his wife Trella. Together they built and maintained a family owned business "Pabst Disposal Service" that continues under his Son's ownership to this day with 3rd generation involvement. Glenn was proud to served his country having been in the US Army during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in November 2, 1953. Glenn's personal interests included Cardinal baseball, Antique Tractors, and livestock. Glenn's growing up on a farm fueled his passion with the raising of cattle. Glenn was always thankful he had parents that taught him about Jesus and he did the same for his children. Living daily with God as his focus was his inspiration - to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God as found in Micah 6:8. The celebration of Glenn's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday May 11, 2017 at Community Church of God 535 S Bowman Ave Danville, IL. Visitation will be at the Church on Wednesday May 10, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, IL is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made in Glenn's name to Community Church of God (Capital Building Fund), India Gospel League, or Mission to Haiti.
