Glenn Jones

DANVILLE- Glenn E. Jones 82, of Danville, passed away at 4:50pm Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Glenn was born in Danville on February 9, 1926, the son of Arnold and Nellie Schensker Jones. Both deceased. On August 4, 1951, Glenn married Dorothy Burow in Danville. She survives and will miss him along with his daughter; Janet (Michael) Larsen of California, his sister, Marybell Killion of Danville, and several of his nieces and nephews. His daughter Cindy Jones, brother, Melvin Jones, sisters, Kathryn Archer, and Dorothy Leverich preceded Glenn in death. Glenn served in the United States Navy during WWII after graduating from Danville High School. He was employed with the Danville Police Department, as a Patrolman and Detective, retiring after 25 years. Glenn also worked as a security at the First Midwest Bank of Danville, as well as a bailiff at the Danville Court House retiring in October of 1997. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, a life member of the Illinois Police Officers Association, Danville American Legion Post 210, Danville VFW, the Danville Elks #332, and the Police Benevolent and Protection Association. In his spare time, Glenn enjoyed golf, playing cards, and visiting with his many friends.
