Glenn "Jack" Dale Christie

Cayuga, Ind. - Glenn "Jack" Dale Christie, 61, of Cayuga, passed away at 5:46 p.m. EDT Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 14, 1954 in Danville, Illinois, the son of the late Glenn B. and Pauline Evelyn Thompson Christie. Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Christie of Danville, Illinois; son, Chad Dale Christie of Marion, Ohio; five grandchildren and one sister, Darlene(Kenny)Miller of Cayuga, Indiana. Jack was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Jack was currently working as a flooring specialist. He worked as a Physiatric Nursing Assistant for 23 years at the Veterans Administration Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois, retiring in 2000. Jack attended the Cayuga Church of the Nazarene. He was a 1972 graduate of North Vermillion High School. Jack served his country proudly with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Cayuga American Legion Post #263. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking. He was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and his son Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Jack especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Samantha. Memorial services: 1 p.m. EDT Friday, April 10, 2015 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Don Morgan; Burial with honors will be at Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois with military rites by the Cayuga American Legion Post #263. There will be no visitation.
