Glendora M. Gaylor

Scottsdale, Arizona - Glendora M. Gaylor, 88, of Scottsdale and formerly of Cayuga and Anderson, Indiana, passed away at 5:59 a.m. MST Friday, January 8, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Scottsdale. She was born September 24, 1927 in Daleville, Indiana the daughter of the late Alonzo Benton and Eva L. (Hensley) Stanley. Glendora married Donald W. Gaylor on August 29, 1947 in Anderson, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2007. Survivors include two sons, Rod(Becky)Gaylor of Phoenix, Arizona and Victor(Irene)Gaylor of Peachtree City, Georgia; six grandchildren; Matthew, Jason, Billie Jean, Nicole, Elizabeth, and Kyle; thirteen great grandchildren; Jacob, Allison, Kelsey, Cody, Emily, Caleb, Sara, Abbey, J.J., Mario, Marlen, Eva, and Nicole; one sister, Sarah Belle Miller and one brother, J. Sherman(Margaret)Stanley, both of Anderson, Indiana. Glendora was preceded in death by three sisters, Velma Hughes; Delores Vermillion and LaVera Dewitt, and three brothers, Ralph; Lloyd "Curley" and Meredith Stanley. Glendora was the Postal Clerk for the Cayuga Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church and a 1945 graduate of Daleville High School. Glendora was a member of the Perrysville Chapter #302 O.E.S. She enjoyed stamp collecting and spending time with her family. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Thursday, January 21, 2016 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Keith Warner; Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. EST Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Cayuga Christian Church, PO Box 731, Cayuga, Indiana 47928-0731.
