Glendale Tabels, 81, of Georgetown, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Provena U.S.M.C. "Logan Campus in Danville. She was born October 27, 1923 in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Fountain Fay and Cora Edith (Tuttle) Fullen. She married Arthur J. Tabels in 1943; he preceded her in death in August, 1964. She is survived by: two sons- Art (Alberta) Tabels of Georgetown and Mike (Karen) Tabels of Danville; two step-sons- Ronald (Sherrie) Shoemaker of Danville and Lewis Shoemaker of Urbana; eight grandchildren- Kelly, Kimberly, Kisha, Bart, Carol, Marty Ann, Michelle and Joely; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers- Jim Fullen of California and John (Erlene) Fullen of New Mexico; and one sister- Joyce (Sonny) Kearney of Tucson, AZ. In addition to her first husband, her parents, her second husband " Roger Shoemaker, two brothers " Jack and Jake Fullen; two sisters- Geraldine Sturgeon and Erma Fullen and one daughter-in-law- Kathie A. Tabels preceded her in death. Glendale worked for Chuckles Candy Company for over 20 years, and then worked for Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN for over 16 years, until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Harvest Time Christian Center in Georgetown, and a long-time member of the Bunco Club of Danville. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed fishing.
