Glen L. Kinney, 77, of Bismarck, passed away on March 15, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. He was born on February 2, 1937 in Danville, IL, the son of, George and Leota (Moore) Kinney. He married Jean Hiser on December 21, 1958 in Bismarck, IL. She survives. He will be deeply missed by his wife, one daughter, Brenda (Eric) Nielsen of Columbus, IN, two grandchildren, Andrew and Michael Nielsen, one sister, Pat Pirtle of Leroy, IL, many nieces, nephews, brothers and sister in-laws. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, step mother, Frances Kinney, step father, Orville Flaherty and one daughter, Beth Kinney. He was a Danville High School graduate. Glen worked for Hyster as a supervisor for over 40 years before retiring in 1999. After retirement Glen went to work for Offutt Development driving a truck for many years. He was a member of the Danville Elks Lodge. He loved going to the Hyster retirees breakfast every month and spending the winters in Siesta Key, FL with his wife Jean. Glen loved riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles with his friends, doing yard work and was quite the handyman. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville for all the care they gave to Glen. A celebration of Glens life will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials can be made in Glens name to the Presence United Samaritans Medical Center Foundation.
