GEORGETOWN - Glen C. James, 70, of Georgetown, passed away at 6:17pm on Tuesday, November 29th, 2005, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on December 17th, 1934, to Ralph and Mildred (Altimus) James in Struthers, OH. He married Carol Nicholes on August 20th, 1975, in Belton, TX. Survivors include: his wife, Carol; his three sons, Kenneth (Ruth Ann) McDowell, Robert McDowell, and Jeffery Glen James; his three daughters, Mary (Tom) Polderdyke, Teresa (Brian) Fuller, and Tammy (Brandon) Boyd; his 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his three brothers, Billy (Norma) James, Ralph James, and Russell James; and his four sisters, Marion Miller, Margie Sanderson, Donna Jean James, and Beverly Hoy. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter-Vicki Smith, one great grandchild, four brothers, and three sisters. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, in the capacity of fire chief in England and Korea. Glens employment included driving a truck for the Army Air Corps Exchange and then onto driving for McLane Midwest where he eventually retired with 22 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and cooking. He was a member of the American Legion Dornblazer Post 203 of Georgetown. He loved each and every one of his children. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren. His dog, Bizkit, was loved as another child and treasured just as much. A celebration of Glens life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 3rd, 2005, at Sunset South's Westville Chapel at 414 S State St., Westville, IL. Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Glen will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
