Glen E. Stewart

Glen E. Stewart, 91, of Crawfordsville, IN and formerly of Danville, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, IN. He was born July 14, 1922, in Buncombe, IL to Thomas and Daisy (Henderson) Stewart. He married Jewel Collins in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1993. Glen is survived by one son, Bob (Marsha) Stewart, of Crawfordsville, IN; 5 grandchildren, Tom and Steve Goodwin, Troy and Chad Stewart and Scarci Card; 9 step-grandchildren, Randy, Damon, Michael and Bryan Lansaw, Renee Downing, Tonnie Woods, Darin and Greg Arford and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jack E. Stewart; one daughter, Dixie Lee Goodwin; one daughter in law, Bev Stewart; four brothers and four sisters. Glen served in the US Army from 1942 through 1946. He spent much of that time overseas and earned a Victory Medal during the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He worked at General Motors for 18 years, retiring in 1978. A Committal Service will be held at 11:30 am in the Spring Hill Cemetery Chapel, Danville. Military Rites will be accorded. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial donations may be to American Legion Post 210.
