Gladys O. Wilson

Gladys O. Wilson, 83, of Westville, passed away peacefully at her home with her children by her side on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. She was born in Golden, MS, on June 30, 1938, the daughter of Charles and Earline Roberts. On December 7, 1957, Gladys married Travis L. Wilson Sr. and they spent 52 wonderful years together before his passing in September of 2009.

Gladys will be deeply missed by her children, Travis L. (Beth) Wilson Jr., Teresa (Bob) Cessna; grandchildren, Marcus (Meaghan) Wilson, Timothy Wilson, Lauren (Amanda) Luca, Jerrod (Sarah) Jennings, Emily Cessna; great-grandchildren, Peyton Luca, Reese Luca, Ronan Deck, Sterling Jennings, Meredith Wilson; brothers, Gerry (Katie) Roberts, Donnie (Janet) Roberts, Danny (Karan) Roberts; sister, Robin (John) Sherman and many special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Earline Roberts; husband, Travis L. Wilson Sr.; daughter, Patti Wilson; infant brother, Hershel Allen Roberts; brother, Charles Roberts and sister, Linda Roberts.

Gladys was one of the most selflessly caring people God ever created, with a sense of hospitality that endeared her to her family and friends.

A celebration of Gladys life will be held at 11am on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with Pastor John Mincy officiating. Visitation will be held immediately prior to the service from 9am to 11am at the funeral home. Following the service Gladys will be laid to rest at Sandusky Cemetery in Westville.

Memorial donations may be made in Gladys name to the Westville First Church of Christ.
