Gladys M Hathaway

Gladys M. Hathaway, 83, of Danville, IL, passed away at 10:10am on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at her residence. She was born on November 13, 1927 in Danville, the daughter of Henry and Eva (Wilson) Miller. Both are deceased. On March 4, 1967, Gladys married Francis Hathaway. He survives along with their son; Gerald (Stephanie) Hathaway of Oakwood, and her sister; Margaret Novick of Westville. In addition to her parents, one sister; Dorothy Brownfield preceded Gladys in death. She was a faithful member of the Danville United Church of Christ located at 618 East Main Street. Gladys, was employed with Illinois Bell as the District Secretary for the Danville location, and later in Champaign until her retirement. She enjoyed spending most of her time with her best friend and husband, Francis, where they both like to do a little gambling during their travels. She also enjoyed baking pies and working with her flowers. A Celebration of Life service for Gladys M. Hathaway has been scheduled for 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Pastor Connie Moodie has been asked to officiate. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:30pm, until time of service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
