Gladys M. Farnsworth

Gladys M. Farnsworth, 93, of Danville, IL passed away at 3:50 PM, Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Colonial Manor in Danville. Gladys was born on January 18, 1925 in Townsville, Queensland Australia, the daughter of Lewis and Olive Hughes. She married Benjamin T. Farnsworth on June 18, 1943 in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. He preceded her in death in 2006. Gladys will be deeply missed by her two sons, Lewis (Judy) Farnsworth of Danville, Bill (Kathy) Farnsworth of Tampa, FL; three daughters, Carol Zimmerman of Westville, Donna Johnson of Charlotte, NC and Cathy Fink of Danville; one brother, Norman Hughes of Glenelg East, Adelaide, South Australia; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband; son, David; her parents, brother, Ernest and one great grandson, Jason. Her life was spent as a homemaker and raising their six children, but also enjoyed quilting, collecting salt and pepper shakers and gardening. Most of all she was a big Cubs fan. A celebration of Gladys' life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834. Visitation will be held from 9-11 AM prior to the service. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
