Gilbert R. Pribble, 78, of Danville, died at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at North Logan Health Care in Danville. Gilbert was born March 16, 1929, in Georgetown, IL, the son of Raymond E. and Helen B. (Gillen) Pribble. He married Edith Comptom in 1950. She preceded him in death on August 31, 1981. He then married Tina Peters on December 26, 1981 in Danville. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2004. Gilbert is survived by his mother, Helen B. Pribble of Georgetown, IL; one step-son, Gary (Brenda) Robinson of Williamsport, IN and two brothers, Thomas Earl (Millie) Pribble of Georgetown, IL and Ray Doc (Kay) Pribble of Georgetown, IL and Danville. His father preceded him in death. Gilbert retired from General Motors after 36 years of service. He loved all sports and small replica model cars. Gilbert served in the U.S. Army during the Korea Conflict and was a member of the Georgetown American Legion. A celebration of Gilberts life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor James Blue officiating. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at the funeral home.
