Geraldine Ruth Mckee

Geraldine Ruth McKee, 72, of Georgetown, passed away at 1:36pm, Sunday, October 25, 2020, at her home. She was born on June 4, 1947, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Bernard and Mary {McKinley} Hillyer. She was united in marriage to Richard E. McKee on March 31, 1980, until his passing on June 20, 2010. She will be missed by her mother, Mary Hillyer; her children, Debbie Ottarski of Tennessee, Annette (Hap) Nelson of Indiana, Rick (Theresa) McKee of Westville, and Tammy (Todd) Satterlee of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Kyle (Morgan) Ottarski, Brent Ottarski, Ashley Rhoden, Shane (Chaston) Nelson, Dylan Nelson, Carrie Nelson, Michael (Amanda) Beauvoise, Brad (Katey) McKee, Derrick McKee, Robert Satterlee, & Tyler Satterlee; her eight great grandchildren; and her sister, Darlene Burke. She was preceded in death by her father; her infant brother, Eddie Hillyer; and her sisters, Geneva Stroeling & Martha Lamonica. Geraldine attended the First Church of Christ in Georgetown and she loved her Church where she also enjoyed volunteering in their clothing room. She loved to crochet and connect with friends on Facebook. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved her dogs. A celebration of Geraldines life will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Phil Miller officiating. Visitation will be held 12:30pm to 1:00pm on Wednesday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Hoult Cemetery, Chrisman. It is kindly requested face masks be worn, and social distancing is practiced by all those in attendance of the visitation and service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to First Church of Christ Food Pantry or Vermilion Count Animal Shelter.
