Geraldine Reich

Danville- Geraldine Reich, 93, of Danville, passed away on May 22, 2014 at Hawthorne Inn Nursing Home in Danville. She was born on August 26, 1920 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Fred and Louise (Sablotni) Ponewash. She married Jack Reich on March 28, 1941 in Danville and Jack preceded her in death in 1986. Geraldine will be deeply missed by one son, Ron Reich of Danville, one daughter, Susan (Rick) Tomlinson of Ball Ground, GA, three grandchildren, Kirby (Sierra) Reich, Torey and Daniel Tomlinson, two great grandchildren, Kalliah Barone and Sylvia Reich. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Clem Ponewash and one infant sister. Geri enjoyed being active and loved being out with people. She supported the family business for many years. Even in retirement, she baked cookies for every occasion, worked at a consignment shop, and enjoyed going to as many garage sales as she could. She collected Beanie Babies and created fashionably accessorized outfits. She loved her family and friends most of all. A celebration of Geris life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Entombment will take place at Springhill Cemetery in Danville. Memorials can be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
