Geraldine Hix

Champaign - Geraldine (Jeri) Hix passed away on December 17, 2016 at Presence Covenant Hospital in Urbana, IL. Geraldine was born on September 10, 1942, the daughter of Jerome and Grace Dicken (Alcorn). On May 19, 1962 Geraldine married the love of her life, William Hix, in Danville, IL. They had one daughter, Lori Huff (Hix). Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Lori; sisters, Roma Buese, Bobbie Craig (Tucky); grandchildren, Jeri Anne Huff (Damon Derrickson), Rebekah Huff; great-grandchildren, Devante and Imani; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William, and sister, Carol Dicken. Geraldine loved to bowl, she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making ceramics. She was a fan of Elvis and loved relaxing and watching Westerns. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Drew Mentzer will be presiding.
