Geraldine (Geri) Jordan Connelly, 96, of Danville went home to be with our Lord at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living on Dec 23, 2021. Born Dec 4, 1925 in Cherry Valley, the daughter of Clyde A. and Mamie (Brown) Jordan. Geri grew up in Rockville,

Indiana area. She married Timothy W. Connelly on Sept. 22, 1951 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville Illinois, they had a full life together to include a son Stephen Jerome Connelly. They were married 59 years until Tim's passing in 2010. Being a very social person Geri retired from Lakeview Hospital in Danville as a switchboard operator. After retirement she spent her days caring for her grandchildren and many others as a volunteer lunchroom attendant at St. Paul's Catholic school now known as Schlarman Academy. Until recent years Geri enjoyed making a yearly pilgrimage to see family and friends in Rockville and surrounding areas. Geri enjoyed talking about her family and seeing all the sights of Rockville and of her childhood. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and showering them with gifts and love. She also enjoyed watching the Indiana Hoosiers beat the Illini every year, more so when it actually happened. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son Stephen (Jamie)

Alexander Connelly, Alexander Peterson, Murphy Osborne, Chase Connelly, Ashley Smith), and 24 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Timothy; 4 brothers Howard, Harold, Clyde and Leo; her twin sister Genevieve McAllister-Bear; and one sister Norma Jean Lovette. Services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St., in Danville. A visitation will take place from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.
