Geraldine Elizabeth (Kimmell) Carter, 79, of Danville, passed away at 6:37 p.m. Thursday, August 25th, 2011 at North Logan Healthcare Center. Geraldine was born on August 10th, 1932, in Hebe, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Harry and Carrie (Morgan) Kimmell. She married James A. Carter in 1974 in Snowflake, Arizona. He preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by three sons- John McGuire of New Mexico, Mike (Judi) McGuire of Stateline, Indiana and Christopher (Jody) Tucker of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter- Irene "Bonnie" Race of Pinetop, Arizona; three sisters- Doris (Elwood) Williams of Tennessee, Blanche Erdman of East Petersburg, Pennsylvania and Betty (Herman) Huntzinger of Conestoga, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers- Harry Kimmell, Bill Kimmell and Clair Kimmell; one sister- Eva Bixler; step-brothers- Lewis Kimmell, Elwood Kimmell and Charles Kimmell; and step-sister Edna Boyd. Geraldine attended Herndon High School in Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall. Geraldine enjoyed collecting dolls, reading and spending time with her family. A Memorial Service for Geraldine Elizabeth (Kimmell) Carter will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 619 East Voorhees Street, Danville, Illinois 61832, with the brother's of the church officiating. Memorials may be made in Geraldine's name to the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall and or North Logan Healthcare. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
