Gerald 'Jerry' Lawhorn Jr.

Gerald D. Jerry Lawhorn Jr., 41, of Westville, Illinois passed away on October 27, 2010 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Jerry was born October 13, 1969 in Danville, Illinois son of Gerald and Saundra (Townsend) Lawhorn Sr. He married Lisa Weaver on January 5, 2001 in Danville. She survives along with four children: James, Joshua, Sandra, and Amber; his parents, brother: Darren (Amber) Lawhorn; sister: Sonya (Gary) Sylvester. Jerry had worked as a correctional officer and was currently working as a union contractor out of the Local #703. He enjoyed camping, motorcycle rides, his beloved pets: Sugar, Winnie, Millie, Snot, & Puddin, and above all family vacations. Other survivors include mother-in-law: Barbara Weaver; special nephews: Colton as well as several other family members and tons of friends. A Celebration of Geralds Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 1, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Foundation or the charity of your choice.
